Truth & Transformation

David Tyree has made a lot of noise on and off the field. One constant remains is the leadership role David falls into, both on and off the field.

David Tyree is the New York Football Giants wide receiver who made the history making Helmet Catch against the previously undefeated New England patriots in Super Bowl XLII.  David also has a successful off the field career. He spent two years at the NFL office, working alongside the Player Engagement Department.  In July of 2014, David received a second homecoming when the New York Football Giants named Him as the Director of Player Development.  Today David serves New York Football Giants players through leadership training, enrichment programs and resources that foster personal growth and career development.

David graduated from Montclair High School in 1998 with a full 4 year athletic scholarship to Syracuse University.  Through unparalleled work ethic and endurance, David excelled as a wide receiver and special teams player.  David was drafted in the 6th round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the New York Giants (211 overall).  Despite humble beginnings and personal challenges, David was named to the 2006 Pro Bowl and responsible for making NFL history with what many consider to be the greatest catch in Super Bowl history.

Along with his professional achievements, David has a personal desire to see others experience the fullness of God’s unique love.  Being a professional athlete did not merely bring self-enjoyment but also offered a chance to be a voice to a generation that worships sports.  David has taken advantage of the opportunities to serve various ministries and charities over the course of his career and even presently.  He currently serves on the board of Children of the City; an organization that has successfully served the children and families of Southwest Brooklyn for more than two decades by changing the culture of poverty through education and outreach.

Now more than ever, David is aware of the character disparity in our nation.  He recognizes the cost of poor decisions and the urgency for mentorship.  David is ardent about impacting this generation in a way that will lead to transformation and good success. David is one who can identify with the many challenges life presents, David is filled with a heart of compassion for people in every walk of life.  Through his personal relationship with Jesus Christ, he has seen every area of His life restored and turned into a story of redemption and hope.
